Answer :The Tourist Information Center of Sabah gives away free brochures,which contain in them location maps of the various destinations described.The sales offices of the local tour operators also give away free brochures, you may try them out. Sometimes you can find Sabah maps in book stores and stationery stores. You can also find some street maps in Sabah Places website.They are not pretty, but they are informative and updated regularly. (7) Is dress code an issue in Sabah? Answer : Yes, our country is relatively conservative, we do not welcome indecently attired people. Do not walk in public in swim suits even if you are heading for the beaches. Put on another pair of shorts and a T-shirt, better still, change into your swim suits only after you arrive at the island resorts. Ladies, please do not go braless when putting on thin T-shirts. However, ladies wearing shorts are acceptable here. Gentlemen spotting long hair please tie them into pony tails so that you will not catch the eyes of the authority. You may be stopped from entry by some over zealous officers. (8) Can a couple walk holding hands in public? Answer : Of course you can. You may even hug each other. But no kissing. Some over zealous officers may haul you back to their office and ruin your holidays. (9) Are liquor allowed in Sabah? Answer : Yes, you may drink as much as you wish here provided you can afford it. Please drink in places designed for the purpose - pub, bars, night clubs, karaoke, lounges and coffee shops. Do not hold a bottle and drink while walking along the streets. And don't drive after drinking as it is an offence to do so. (10) Is drug abuse a serious offence in your country? Answer :Yes, it is an extremely serious offence, you would be handed down a mandatory death sentence if found in possession of more than 100 grams of prohabited drug.So do not gamble with your life. Answer : Yes you may spend as much time as you wish in the forest reserves. But it is an offence to damage or remove any plant or its seedling from the reserves. What are the requirements in order to gain immigration clearance at the check-point? Answer : If you are travelling on Social Pass and not with any tour group, you must have the following minimum requirements to gain entry into Malaysia: (1) A valid passport, (2) A valid visa (social pass), (3) A confirmed return air ticket, and the returning date must not exceed 30 days from the date of arrival, (4) Sufficient cash to support the kind of board and lodging you choose,including food during the length of your stay(USD 1,500 - 2,500).Failing in any of the above mentioned may cause you to be turned back at the immigration check-point.
